William Battline I purchased my first Johnathan Best tape in Bryant Park in the 80's titled 'The Invisible Man'. Since then, that album has been on every music device I've owned. Great to hear these different versions.Gotta go, my Cherrios are getting soggy.

Someday all our problems will be solved Though some people may get hurt Someday everybody will be involved Even the ones that didn’t wanna get in the dirt Who’s gonna break it? Break what? That keeps the down down? Hey Senator give me your hand let me shake it I won’t break it Hey senator gimme a home gimme heat now Gimme something to eat Give em a seat and they take your job Gimme lies gimme crack gimme reason to rob Somebody’s gonna lock me up cuz they don’t like the way that I rock my butt The reasons they give may be futile lies But they brutalize Everybody cry Who’s gonna break it? Break what? That keeps the down down? Someday everybody’s gonna see Though some people may go blind Someday everybody will be free But it won’t be no law it’ll be in your mind Who’s gonna break it? Break what? That keeps the down down?

When you open up your heart and you can’t find a trace of love You can dig a little deeper but maybe you ain’t got the right stuff You could plead insane Or whoever does your thinkin’ maybe they’re to blame I see the whites of your eyes But the eyes in back your head see the whole world watching you The whole world’s watching you You can turn any knob make it dark make it light You can turn down the sound make it black make it white Pull out all your hair It makes no difference how long you stare When they die you can’t hear them cry ‘Cause the TV isn’t talkin’ but the whole world is watching you The whole world’s watching you 50 cents a game If you knew thy self you’d know thy shame Let it be your job To keep your hands on your face ‘cause the whole world’s watching you The whole world’s watching you I know you like to watch But keep your hands to yourself ‘cause the whole world’s watching you The whole world’s watching you

about

This is a journey through my time in NYC during the 80s. It's an album in process. It starts when I first moved there in 1981 and ends at about 1989 although some of the final mixing was done as late as 1993. The last song circles back to the beginning.
